Cron jobs would be a great addition. Meaning that you could set up (schedule) for every invoice an automatic e-mail to the customer.

MLInvoice can send the invoice by e-mail, provided customers e-mail address is added to the settings. I don't quite understand how cron job would be helpful here.
I suppose something like reminders and sending of repeating invoices would be candidates for scheduled jobs. It's not a bad idea, but needs a fair amount of work so that e.g. everything that happens automatically is properly logged and any errors are handled gracefully.
